The judges selected Robin’s work because it is ‘well considered, functional and well executed’ . They were impressed by its aesthetics, especially his use of so many materials in one piece. Commenting on this, his second award at New Designers 2009, he said ‘whilst the prize is great, I am so delighted by the accolade’. He finds inspiration directly from his materials. He admires the work of the Bourellec Brothers and their artistic approach and would like to emulate their business set-up. He is overjoyed to win such an award and considers that having a stand at 100% Design Futures presents an amazing opportunity.
