The judges were delighted with her ‘creative and sympathetic re-use of an existing building to produce a viable and realistic mixed-use facility. She has made an interesting use of inter-related spaces to create a logical route to the ultimate destination.’

Commenting on the award, Francesca said ‘I feel very honoured and appreciative that my work has been recognised, as I try to work in a quirky yet realistic manner. I find that working in a sculptural sense comes quite naturally to me, and helps to create the perfect atmosphere and spaces within a building. I’m glad that I’ve taken risks that have paid off.’
