Winner: Robin Grasby, Northumbria University 3D Design BA Hons

The judges selected Robin Grasby for his ‘natural affinity to the materials’ and described him as ‘a good all-rounder that embraces craftsmanship with a great use of mixed materials.’ Robin worked as a joiner when he was 16 and it was this that inspired him to continue to University. He also hopes to take a Masters Degree in Furniture Design and was particularly flattered to receive the award, ‘knowing that people view my work as being successful and suitable for manufacturing.’
