New Designers Peter Walker Associate Prize For Innovation in Product Design |
 |
Winner: Christine Misiak
Northumbria University |
Associate Prize: £2,000
Judges Comments: She is a designer whose obsession with second life design combined with a passion for practical metal work makes her work stand out. The products are strong on emotion, making a bold contemporary statement out of recycling. More than that the combination she proposes create a beautiful tension that speaks more about ‘upcycling’ that results in a distinct new vocabulary for modern tastes.
