|
Claudio PATERNESI comes from the heart of Italy’s Central Pennines, near Monti Sibillini. His early years were split between harvests and sheep grazing in the summer and boarding school in the winter. Claudio moved to Britain in the mid eighties, where he spent several years working in the catering business. At the age of forty, Claudio decided to make a fresh start and enrolled for an interior design course at Westminster College. He built a portfolio to present to London Guildhall University where he successfully achieved a degree in interior design and technology. He also developed a passion for architecture and the manipulation of space through diverse media. His major influences are modern and minimal: Mies Van der Rohe, Tadao Ando and Fu-Tung Cheng, to name a few - Farnsworth House, the German Pavilion, Church of Light - glass, steel and concrete.
