On|Off’s – One Offs Illuminating the fashion week platform for a fresh art initiative that takes fashion to a whole new level On|Off has always been highly regarded for its forerunning focus for supporting the most diverse and exciting genres of design, cementing their universal belief in the great creative potential. On|Off 15 catwalk shows, 16 exhibiting fashion designers, Boutique and press room This season has been explosively launched with a diverse combination of the best British and international product design and artistry on the market to date. Not only will each partner be previewing their latest designs and creations, many exclusively at the On|Off event, but many of the installations have been designed uniquely to mark On|Off‘s fifth season. On|Off are extremely pleased to be working alongside Marc by Marc Jacobs illustrator Will Broome in the creation of an exclusive illustrative installation to be featured within the entrance walkway to the On|Off exhibition, open every day to press and buyers. Will Broome has also created a one-off unique quirky design for On|Off’s exclusive travel card holder designs, a must have accessory available only at the On|Off boutique. Artists such as Immersive 360 (see below) have also captured the visual spirit of On|Off in a series of dedicated installations epitomising the collective creative exposure that is the On|Off event. Using a unique method of 360 degree photography, On|Off will be previewed through a collection of trademark Immersive 360 panoramic images, while other depictions of the On|Off story come in the form of Wendy Daws bespoke ‘memory blankets’; a perspex light installation featuring nostalgic images of the best On|Off moments of the past five seasons. The visual impact of lighting design is being taken to new levels with a host of innovators who have created pieces for preview within the pressroom, reception and catwalk areas of the Royal Academy of Arts location. The design specialists at Light Lab are setting the scene with crafted On|Off light banners and mirrors plus spectra light panels to set the stage for the upstairs Gallery catwalk arena. Designers Helen Amy Murray and Conscious Forms are also using light to create distinctive art features for the reception and press areas, while previous partners Michael Warren and Phillo Flowers join forces to create naturally inspired visual focuses to welcome the thousands of high profile guests that are anticipated over the three days. Working to promote the full exhibitive potential the Royal Academy of Arts has to offer, On|Off will be previewing a combination of some of the most fresh art and furniture installations on the British and international market. Bespoke product artist Dan MacMillan of Zoltar has created a trademark installation for the Gallery catwalk holding room, while Zoe Bradley (Showpiece Artist - McQueen, Michiko Koshino) will be adorning the main stairwell with her conceptual paper apparel designs. Sinta Tantra of the Royal Academy of Arts School will have part of the exhibition area to create an exclusive wall installation made up of a collage of intricate hand cut-outs and painted shapes. The On|Off press room is another opportunity for innovative design to be seen for its practical potential, with perspex furniture creations from Brothersister, Hidden Art and Raw Nerve, a design collective providing furniture and lighting. Creating some of the most cutting edge concepts in visual creativity, Jason Bruges Studio rejoins On|Off again to produce a must-see life size interactive mirror display with a memory that consists of 25 LCD screens on a time delay so you can see your own image moving in real-time, a clear example of advanced thinking and technology. On|Off are delighted to welcome back Studio Thomson and Generation Press, who once again supporting the design and production of the limited edition book. After previous successful collaborations, L’Oreal Professional/techi.art will also be supporting the On|Off event with hair teams and backstage support at select catwalk shows, while Shisedo are returning to support On|Off’s cosmetics partnerships with a makeover pod and feature to launch their new men’s grooming range.
