‘New Designers’ debut by Sarah Catterick
July 2008
Surface Design Graduate Sarah Catterick makes her textile debut at the prestigious ‘New Designers’ event at the Business Design Centre in London.
The work on show has been selected from her graduate collection, ‘Dandy Warhol’ and will be displayed alongside other textile graduates from the Textile and Surface Design course at BuckinghamshireNewUniversity.
The collection was inspired by ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ and the contrasts between fantastically bold florals of the pop art period and intricate details of 18th century art and costume.
Sarah Catterick, originally from Herne Bay, Kent, has thoroughly enjoyed her degree and her volunteer role as Year Rep, organizing fund raising events such as the ‘Red Shed No Knickers’ Calendar in 2007 as well as being events coordinator of the Textiles Degree Show.
She is a passionate designer and is now looking forward to putting her skills to the test; working within the design industry.
