Young talent in the design industry is attracing more and more attention. New companies from all industries are keen to have their names associated with student award winners. This must tell us something about the design industry as a whole. There is a hope that students will have the confidence and naivety to reinvigorate thinking about traditional areas. They do not tell us everything about the present or future of design - the earkiest work of designers is rarely their best or most innovative. This lot, however, certainly show promise. Chukits - Alex Carpenter The inspiration for these salt cellar beanbags come from the common phrase 'chuck us the salt'. They enable the user to feel like they are allowed to throw the salt without feeling guilty. Chukits are designed to bring an element of fun to mealtime etiquette, and can be used in any dining environment. The salt does not fly out of the cellar due its twist close design.
