'Victoria has just completed a four year fashion degree course specialising in accessories. Her passion was always textiles and fabric design, which she carried forward to Northumbria. Accessories were given a makeover as she began to experiment with all types of fabrics. At the 'New Designers' show in Islington, where her university had a stand, there was a buzz around her bags. I asked Victoria to describe her final collection. 'It was inspired by the things I love in life, my pets, my uncles garden, especially the dalia patch. I used soft leather and spent a year trying new techniques to manipulate it and transfer my designs. Some of the bags were given specialised screen printing processes, others were etched. I used collage techniques with embroidery, combined with stud effects to create star bursts. There were bags, purses, scarves, beach wear and a silk printed parasol within my collection. At the moment I am making my range to sell and setting up my studio, under the label 'Trixivix'.
