Jul 2006 - Caroline Moiret - Suspended kinetic installations, 'wearable sculpture' and jewellery. |
|
Caroline Moiret creates architectural suspended kinetic installations, 'wearable sculpture' and jewellery. For her kinetic installations or 'environments' she works mainly in colourful translucent polypropylene and other plastics, creating multiples of geometric, natural or iconic forms, held together by slotting or friction which are then suspended in precisely arranged 3D patterns. These installations are designed to be displayed in large stairwells, conference halls, galleries etc utilising updrafts and gentle movement of air. Caroline hopes to collaborate with architects, interior designers and create bespoke installations for specific sites. Caroline also creates 'wearable sculpture' and jewellery. Following the same principle of geometry, multiples and slotting and working in polypropylene and silver she creates elegant, paired down, meditative pieces.
