Jun 2007 - Charlotte Strodl - Background release
Charlotte Strodl was born in London in 1983. At an early age it was apparent that she was to become another exceptional artist to come out of the Strodl family. Throughout her school years she won numerous art prizes as she experimented with different mediums, eventually settling on fine art where she excelled. With a strong academic head on her shoulders, Charlotte decided to go to Exeter University to study Business in 2002. With a business degree under her belt and a heated passion for fashion, Charlotte headed back to London to immerse herself in the exhilarating world of fashion PR. She began her career at Jimmy Choo before moving to top fashion and beauty PR agency Modus Publicity: which boasts infamous clients such as Calvin Klein, Etro and Hamish Morrow. Amongst the many designer brands, Strodl became entranced by the beautiful jewellery collections of Lara Boinc, Levieve and Boucheron. With the heavy price tags, Charlotte could not afford to purchase any so following travels to Asia she began to design her own jewellery using semi precious gems and freshwater pearls sourced from there. After her own jewellery started to get noticed by people in the business and even on the street and in clubs, Charlotte thought she might be on to something. She cemented her talent with a jewellery design and jewellery business course at Central St Martins School of Art and then put her creative and business skills into action. Slowly but surely, a jewellery collection was born. Using the finest gold filled and sterling silver chains, Charlotte makes each piece by hand capturing her vision and passion in each and every one. With the debut collection already causing a stir, Rockabella jewellery looks set to become an identifiable and unique thread in London’s rich fashion tapestry.
