Sep 2006 - Kate Brightman - Exciting New Designer Hits the Jewellery Scene |
|
Having graduated just over a year ago, Maidstone based jewellery designer, Kate Brightman, has come a long way. Her fresh and funky designs have been selected for Springboard at Origin: The London Craft Fair, at Somerset House this October. Origin has replaced the major annual selling event, Chelsea Craft Fair, promising to be bigger and better. Alongside established makers there will an opportunity to see work by emerging makers at Springboard, a feature area for those who are within one year of trading. As one of only twenty four makers selected by industry professionals for this showcase of up and coming talent, Kate’s unique designs have not gone unnoticed. “I produce jewellery that craves attention; sculptural, organic forms that explore limitations in terms of wearability” says Kate who makes large scale pieces combining precious and non precious materials. Working from a shed in her back garden each item is individually hand crafted, made for someone who wants to stand out in a crowd. This jewellery doesn’t just say something about who you are, it screams it! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see and buy this exciting new work by visiting Springboard at Origin: The London Craft Fair from 3rd October to 8th October 2006 at London’s Somerset House or for more information visit www.katebrightman.co.uk.
