London Design Festival 2007 - 15-25 September – free to the public every day (ex.Sunday) Drinks and press preview: 7-9pm, 19 September 2007 Partridge Fine Art & Fuse UK together present I Love Design at the gallery of Partridge Fine Art Ltd, 144-146 New Bond Street, London W1S 2PF ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I Love Design – Fuse Pairs with Partridge for London Design Festival Possibly the quirkiest coupling of this year’s London Design Festival is Partridge Fine Art’s hosting of Fuse UK: Partridge is an established dealer in sought-after antiques, Fuse UK a collective of young and emerging design talent. Imagine a model wearing a clear acrylic dress (c.2006) seated on a cardboard chair (c.2002) at a rare mahogany and ebony writing table (c.1820) boasting a Louis XVI ormolu-mounted white and black marble portico mantle clock (c.1780)… See what we mean? Around 30 Fuse product designers will be exhibiting at Partridge. Their pieces range from very beautiful lampshades made of re-cycled card, a maple and cherry sideboard, flying ducks and to a chair that collects the cash that drops from your pockets. “Together, these designers represent some of the best and brightest in UK design talent,” says Fuse UK co-spokesman, Wendy Daws. “Some have established distribution, some not, but to show at Partridge is an amazing opportunity for all of us to flex our muscles against some of the world’s all-time greats.” Partridge Fine Art, meanwhile, has been selling those ‘all-time greats’ – ie, the best English and Continental antique furniture, pictures and objects - for over 100 years. Mark Law, Chairman of Partridge, says: "We are delighted to be showing the work of Fuse. We have always shown the very best in antique design and are very excited to present such cutting-edge contemporary work alongside our own collections." Partridge Fine Art is housed in a magnificent four-storey ‘Palace of the Arts’ in London’s New Bond Street. Fuse UK designers from all over Britain will join them 15-25 September as partners in London Design Festival 2007.
